“We freely provide pastors with good, biblical books and other biblical study resources to strengthen, encourage, and build them up so they can more effectively minister God’s Word in their local churches and communities”.

Our History

W ise Words Foundation began in late 2018 with a desire to establish a bookstore in the Caribbean as a way of extending the publishing ministry of the local church under which it operates. The purpose in mind was to provide pastors easier access to biblically sound literature which many in the US have been blessed to enjoy for years.

This idea began to take a new form when I was reading the biography of Charles Spurgeon’s wife, Susannah Spurgeon. In that book, it is recounted how Susannah had a ministry of books called “The Book Fund.” This ministry provided books to pastors and leaders who did not have the finances to buy them themselves. I instantly realized and understood that setting up a small bookstore would be in vain if pastors could not afford them or if the books did not exist in their own language.

It was at that moment that I began to further explore the great need that exists for pastors, teachers, and leaders in various parts of Latin America in having access to good Christian books. I also saw that the need was not merely that books be made available to pastors, but that they should be available in their own language. What good would it do to make books available if they cannot be understood?

This was how Wise Words Foundation was born. Wise Words Foundation begun with the vision of providing biblically sound books to pastors and church leaders.

This is certainly not a new idea, other organizations provide books. What makes us unique is the place that pastors and the local church play in the vision of our organization. Sadly, we have seen how many organizations, even with good intentions, have become substitutes for the local church, or have supplanted the teaching and preaching ministry of the local church, thereby weakening it instead of making it stronger.

Wise Words Foundation strongly believes that preaching and teaching are intrinsically linked to the pastoring of the sheep and that they are the unique role of the local church and its pastors. We believe that by strengthening pastors through sound doctrine and biblical study resources, we are doing the best possible good for the local church and its members.

In the beginning of 2021, Wise Words Foundation finally became a reality. We are currently working on a number of literature projects with the help of many partners including writers, translators, publishers, book distributors, etc. We have donated dozens of books to pastors and teachers, as well as helped missionary ministries in various places of the world.

We exist to equip and help pastors grow in their knowledge of God’s Word so that they can then pass it on to the flock. By providing pastors with study resources, we are doing the best possible good for the local church and its members”.

Our Believes

Statement of Faith

Wise Words Foundation draws from the doctrinal riches of the historic Christian faith that have been passed down through the centuries, and we submit to the Bible alone as our only infallible rule for faith and practice.

Wise Words foundation adheres to the ancient statements of faith and affirms the historic Christian faith as expressed in the five solas of the Reformation and the consensus of the historic Reformed Confession of 1689.

The Bible

The Bible, in its entirety, is the infallible, inerrant, and inspired Word of God; it is divine revelation that carries the full weight of God’s authority and to which we are obliged to submit.

The Trinity

Within the Godhead there is a unity of three distinct yet fully divine persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; these three are one true, eternal God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory.

God

God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth. God is fully omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, not given to learning or “openness.”

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man, having two natures inseparably united in one divine person without confusion, mixture, separation, or division. Each nature retains its own attributes. In the incarnation, Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a perfect life among us, was crucified, put to death, and buried, rose on the third day, ascended to heaven, and will come again in glory and judgment. He is the only Mediator between God and men.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is of one substance with the Father and the Son. He eternally proceeds from the Father and the Son, and He dwells in the hearts of believers.

Creation

God, by the word of His power, created from nothing the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. He further preserves and governs all His creatures and all their actions according to His most holy, wise, and powerful providence.

Man

After God made the other creatures, He created man, both male and female, in His own image, but because Adam sinned and woefully fell in his responsibility, he and his posterity entered into a state of moral corruption and moral inability and became estranged from their Creator, thus deserving death as the punishment for sin.

Atonement

Because all have sinned, atonement must be made in order for man to be reconciled to God. Jesus Christ made a complete atonement for His people through His substitutionary atoning death on the cross. He imputes His righteousness to all believers securing us full redemption for all who repent of their sin and trust in Him alone for salvation.

The Law

The moral law perfectly reflects the unchangeable character of God and forever binds all people, believers as well as unbelievers.

The Church

Christ has established a visible church, which is called to live in the power of the Holy Spirit under the regulation of the authority of Holy Scripture, preaching the gospel of Christ, administering the sacraments, and exercising discipline.

Christianity & Culture

Wise Words Foundation adheres to the final authority of Scripture and lordship of Jesus Christ, and is committed to the implementation of the social and cultural implications of God’s commandments for the well-being of man and his environment. Wise Words Foundation especially condemns the murder of defenseless human beings at the earliest stages of their development and rejects unbiblical definitions of gender, sexuality, and marriage.

Oversight & Accountability

Wise Words Foundation has taken measures on multiple levels to ensure proper and thorough oversight of its ministry and its faithfulness. Our structure of accountability has three components: (1) our local church, (2) a board of directors, and (3) a body of overseers.
The Local Church: Wise Words Foundation is under the oversight of the elders and leaders of the Reformed Baptist Church of North Bergen in New Jersey, United States.
The Board of Directors: As a 501(c)(3) (or non-profit) organization, Wise Words Foundation has a Board of Directors to aid in the directing and monitoring of its activities. Per the Foundation’s by-laws, the board manages the organization and exercises such powers as are allowed and prescribed by statute, the articles of incorporation, and its by-laws. Some of those duties include the approval of the ministry’s budget, oversight of compensation, oversight of the management of financial assets, and the appointment of the Executive Director.
The Overseers: The overseers are comprised of godly men, members, and leaders of a local church with whom we share the same vision. These men are in charge of ensuring that the organization does not deviate from its core values.

This body of overseers watches over the moral integrity of the board members, as well as all the staff and volunteers of the foundation and has the power to recommend to the board of directors the exclusion of anyone whose moral integrity is found reprehensible. Both the overseers and the board members must be members of a local church, not under church discipline, and must possess a letter of recommendation from their pastors, preferably married, and whose personal convictions are in accordance with the principles expressed in the Bible, as understood in the historical reformed heritage and in the Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689.
